Did you know that the Naperville Public Library offers more than just books and magazines?
Throughout the year it also hosts fun events for adults. They include:
SRP Club: Counted Cross-Stitch for Beginners (July 26)
This class teaches about the history of cross-stitching, as well as the different types of fabric and floss and how to start and finish a project. The instructors will also demonstrate a few stitches that will allow participants to start a simple pattern with help from staff.
Read Aloud Book Club (July 27)
Did you know that reading aloud is a long-standing tradition? The library states that historically, families read together as a form of entertainment while factory workers had books read to them as a way to relieve tedium. This book club keeps this tradition alive by reading short stories.
Coloring for Adults (August 8)
While sipping tea and listening to music, participants can enjoy two hours of coloring printed designs using colored pencils and Crayons. This activity is popular, and many adults find it relaxing.
SRP Club: Yoga for Adults (August 10)
Yoga is an excellent way to stay in shape while at the same time reducing stress and anxiety. This class is suitable for all abilities and participants should dress in comfortable clothes and bring a mat.
Criminal Spines Book Club (August 10)
This book club is for anyone who enjoys reading mysteries, thrillers, true crime, and suspense novels. The book selection for August 10 is What Was Mine by Helen Klein Ross, and it tells the story of Lucy Wakefield who kidnaps a baby girl from a shopping cart and raises her as her own.
