Visit The Naperville Riverwalk

Just minutes from Brookdale on the Park Apartments is the crown jewel of Naperville.

It’s known as the Naperville Riverwalk, and it features 1.75 miles of brick paths, bridges, recreational facilities, and so much more.

Highlights include:

Centennial Beach and Grill – Since 1931, locals and visitors alike have enjoyed spending time at Centennial Beach. This aquatic park spans nearly six acres and features a zero-depth water entry, diving board complex, slide, and a sand volleyball court. As for Centennial Grill, it is popular for its hot off the grill specials such as juicy hamburgers.

Paddleboat Quarry – Take a fun paddleboat ride and explore the city’s historic quarry. The paddleboats along with kayaks can be rented in the hut next to the paddleboat dock. Anglers can spend the day fishing at the quarry as long as they hold a valid state fishing license.

Nichols Library – At the Nichols Library, you will find books in all genres as well as magazines, DVD’s, and CD’s. Patrons can also enjoy book discussion groups, brown bag lectures, and movies at the library.

Fredenhagen Park – This park is the gateway to the riverwalk’s east extension, and it’s named after Walter and Grace Fredenhagen. The couple helped build Prince Castles and Cock Robin Ice Cream, which was located on this site from 1931 to 2000. Visitors find beautiful gardens, the Exchange Club Memories Fountain, and a sculpture called “Two in a Million.”
